Club Rules

  • Fishing is only permitted by fly rod, fly line and flies.
  • The bag limit for each loch is specified.
  • Members must be in possession of their membership card at all times, and must freely provide this for inspection at the request of any club member, estate keeper or water bailiff who have the right to inspect tackle and catch to ensure compliance with the club rules. All members must report any infringement of club rules by any persons to the committee.
  • A Membership card is not transferable.
  • Members and guests are bound to comply with any rules imposed by individual riparian owners as a condition of the lease. These rules will be made known to Members by the Committee.
  • All members use the club waters at their own risk. The club will not, under any circumstances, be held responsible for members’ property or for accidents occurring on club waters.
  • Members must supply and wear life jackets/buoyancy aids for boat and float-tube fishing. Boats and oars must be properly locked up as we must comply with the clubs insurance and meet all its liabilities.
  • Lighting fires of any nature is strictly prohibited. No person shall dispose of litter, dirt or toxic waste in waters, or perform any act whereby the water may be fouled. All litter is to be removed.
  • Dogs are only allowed to accompany Members on lochs as stipulated on the web site.
  • Strictly no firearms or shooting of any kind shall be allowed on club waters.
  • Members are strictly prohibited from selling fish caught by rod. Fish which are to be kept must be dispatched quickly with a suitable instrument.
  • Members must participate in a strictly legal and sportsmanlike manner.
  • Juniors must be accompanied by a family adult club member at all times. The member is responsible for the actions of the junior.
  • We insist that members take care not to damage any fences, using stiles where available to access lochs.
  • Care must be taken not to disturb nesting birds and wildlife in any way.
  • Members will conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and show due respect to other members and the general public. We aim to promote a family atmosphere.
  • Any infringement of the above rules will render the offender liable to having their membership cancelled.
