About

Welcome to Forsinard Flyfishers’ Club, established six years ago the club is a not-for-profit organisation whose main aim is to enhance the fishing opportunities available in the Strath Halladale area for the local community and visiting anglers.

Membership is open to all, with initial membership fees kept as low as possible, our emphasis on encouraging junior members demonstrated by the free joining fee for under 18s. With around 100 square miles of Sutherland’s heather-clad hills and spectacular views over the North Sea and surrounding mountains, the club encompasses 50 named lochs available for members to bank fish representing amazing value and fantastic variety. Boats are available for members on 14 lochs with a minimal charge of £10 per day applying. There is no charge for the use of a boat if a junior member is accompanying an adult member.

The club has gone from strength to strength and has enjoyed tremendous support from the Bighouse Estate, Strath Halladale River Partnership, The RSPB, Mike Ashmole and Scottish Woodlands who have kindly granted leases with permission to fish their lochs. This level of support from local estates/landowners has been fantastic, for which we are truly grateful, and in order to maintain these positive partnerships it is imperative that members read fully and abide to the club rules.

For novice anglers and specimen hunters alike, the quality of fishing on offer is amazing, with certain lochs producing bags of 50+ trout in a day while others have boasted fish as large as 6lb 14oz – This truly is a trout fishers’ paradise!
